Denmark reach Euro 2024 knockout stages with draw against Serbia

Hjulmand's side qualify despite goalless result in Munich

Denmark secured their place in the knockout phase of Euro 2024 with a nervy 0-0 draw against Serbia in Munich on Tuesday.

The result means Denmark finish second in Group A behind Spain, who beat Scotland 2-0 in the other game. Serbia, who needed a win to qualify, finish third and are eliminated.

Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand said he was "proud" of his team's performance, despite the goalless draw.

"We knew it would be a tough game, but we stuck to our game plan and created some good chances," he said. "We didn't take them, but we didn't concede either, so we're happy with the result."

Denmark will now face the winners of Group B in the last 16. That game will be played on Saturday in Copenhagen.
